You ever wake up at like 3 a.m. for absolutely no reason?
House is quiet.
Everyone’s asleep.
But your brain decides it’s the perfect time to start reviewing your entire life like a late-night documentary.
You’re laying there thinking about things you said years ago. Wondering if you’re doing enough. Thinking about bills, people, mistakes, tomorrow, next week… all of it.
Life has a funny way of showing up in those quiet moments.
But something else shows up too.
Sometimes in those quiet hours you start realizing God has actually been growing things in you… things you didn’t even notice at first.
The Bible talks about the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22–23 —
love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Not things you suddenly wake up with one day.
Things that grow in you over time.
And honestly? Life is usually what grows them.
Because patience doesn’t show up until something tests it.
Peace doesn’t mean much until you’re in the middle of chaos.
Kindness matters most when people are being… well… people.
Sometimes when you’re laying there at 3 a.m., you start realizing you’re not the same person you were a few years ago.
You handled something differently.
You stayed calmer than you used to.
You showed grace where you once might’ve shown anger.
That’s growth.
That’s God doing quiet work inside you while you’re just out here trying to survive life.
Those middle-of-the-night moments can feel heavy sometimes, but they’re also honest moments. No noise. No distractions. Just you and your thoughts.
And sometimes that’s where you notice it.
God’s still working on you.
Still shaping you.
Still growing good things in you… even when life feels messy.
So if you find yourself awake at 3 a.m. thinking about everything under the sun…
You’re not alone.
You might just be in the middle of a growing season. 🌱
