🖤 “Becoming Who You Already Are”

Verse:
2 Corinthians 5:17
“If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here.”

Hey friend.

Let me ask you something real—

Who are you… when nobody’s around?

Not who people expect you to be.
Not who you used to be.
Not who your mistakes say you are.
Just… you.

Because finding your identity can feel confusing.
You try different things.
Different habits.
Different versions of yourself.
Some of it fits.
Some of it doesn’t.

And sometimes it feels like you’re just piecing yourself together as you go.

I get that.
Growth isn’t always obvious.
It’s not always a big, dramatic change.

Sometimes it looks like:

outgrowing old habits
thinking a little differently
choosing better, even when it’s hard

And sometimes… it feels slow.
Like you should be further along by now.
But listen—
You’re not behind.
You’re becoming.

That verse says you’re a new creation.
Not “eventually.”
Not “once you figure everything out.”
Right now.

Which means your identity isn’t something you have to chase down—
It’s something you grow into.

And yeah… that growth can feel uncomfortable.

Because it means letting go of things:
old mindsets
old patterns
even old versions of yourself you got used to

But just because it’s uncomfortable doesn’t mean it’s wrong.
It means you’re changing.

There’s another verse that puts it like this:

Romans 12:2
“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind…”

That’s a process.
Not overnight.
Not instant.
Step by step.
Thought by thought.
Choice by choice.

So if you’ve been feeling a little lost lately…
like you’re not quite sure who you are or where you’re going—

That doesn’t mean you’re failing.
It means you’re in the middle of growth.
And growth doesn’t always feel clear.

But it’s still happening.
So take the pressure off.

You don’t have to have your whole identity figured out today.
Just keep showing up.
Keep learning.
Keep letting God shape you.

Because who you’re becoming?
It’s already being worked on—even when you don’t see it yet.
